The Summer Body-Fat Shredder
Since Memorial Day is the unofficial start to summer, this weekend's two-move challenge is designed to jack up your heart rate and incinerate calories—and help make sure you're ready for "judgment day." (The first time you go shirtless in public in 2014.) "The single-arm kettlebell swing is one of the best moves for burning fat," says Todd Durkin, C.S.C.S., and author of musclemorphosis.com But instead of resting between fat-sizzling sets of swings, you'll drop to the ground to perform a fast-paced crawl to keep your heart rate elevated to burn even more calories.
Here's how it works: Place two 16 kilogram (kg) kettlebells 5 yards apart. Perform 10 reps of the single-arm kettlebell swing with your right arm, bear crawl to the other kettlebell and perform 10 reps of the single-arm swing with your left arm. Repeat until you've completed 100 total reps of the single-arm kettlebell swing.
Durkin completed this brutal, fat-burning challenge in 4 minutes and 52 seconds. Can you beat his time? Try it and let us know in the comments below.
