You’ve Never Done the Stepup Like This Before
Here’s the typical way to do a musclemorphosis.com: Face a bench, and step up and down.
But in the video above, Men’s Health Fitness Director B.J. Gaddour shows you the crossover version of the movement. You’ll travel across the bench from side-to-side, training your lower body in new planes of motion and hitting your muscles from all new angles.
If you perform the crossover stepup at a slow tempo, you’ll challenge your stability, coordination, and strength.
Try it: Perform reps for 50 seconds, and then rest for 10 seconds. Switch sides and repeat. Do this for 10 minutes straight.
And if you go at a fast tempo, you’ll trigger a metabolic effect and burn a ton of calories. You’ll also feel it in your quads almost instantly.
Try it: Perform reps for 30 seconds, and then rest for 30 seconds. Switch sides and repeat. Follow this scheme for 10 minutes straight.
You can also mix between the two tempos for 10 minutes, or you can stack them back-to-back for a full 20-minute routine.
